Collaboration between five-time Oscar winner Sir Richard Taylor and MACK One

”The Lord of the Rings” trilogy set a new standard for movie making, from the make-up effects of the orcs and hobbits, miniatures of the realms of Middle-earth, and elaborately computer generated armies. From the very start of production, it was Richard Taylor's company Wētā Workshop that was responsible for designing and making the physical weapons, armour and prosthetics, a company he co-founded with his wife Tania Rodger. In the new podcast episode ‘The World Beyond - The Emotioneers of Tomorrow’ brought to you by Michael Mack, five-time Oscar winner Taylor outlines his career and creative endeavours in a very relatable way and with a pinch of humour. Taylor's career began with the intricate carving of margarine sculptures for restaurants. From this, he and his wife developed a company that is now one of the most sought-after worldwide when it comes to innovation and creativity.

The interactive water carousel "Tønnevirvel" opens in Rulantica for the first time in the world in a water park

In the new ‘Tønnevirvel’, from 2nd July, the motto is ‘On the boats... get set... wet’! In the water world of Europa-Park, the ‘Twist'n'Splash’ ride from Mack Rides, beloved in amusement parks, will be presented in a water park for the first time worldwide. The interactive water carousel provides lively adventures all year round. The boats spin round on themselves and on three underwater platforms, creating double the spinning fun and a unique thrill. With oversized water spray guns, passengers can engage in back to back water fights. Visitors who don’t wish to become passengers by entering the magical stone circle, an ancient sacred site of the Nordic peoples, can still expect to get a little wet, as the lively spectacle does not only take place on the boats. Guests can also join in on the fun from land with even more water guns surrounding the attraction, ensuring that guests are not completely defenseless against the refreshing watery bombardment coming from the round boats.

Europa-Park donates "Eurosat" roller coaster train

For over 28 years, the seven trains of the ‘Eurosat’ rollercoaster were on the move at Europa-Park, carrying more than 80 million passengers from 1989 until 5th November 2017. In the ten months that followed, the popular rollercoaster inside the futuristic silver sphere, which was developed by Europa-Park's founding father Franz Mack, was completely revised and now offers a significantly improved riding experience thanks to a new track system, technical progress and new rollercoaster trains manufactured by Mack Rides. One of these retired trains is now getting a new home, as the owner family Mack has donated it to the ‘National Roller Coaster Museum’ in Planview Texas (USA). The donated train vehicles have been restored to make them look there best. Europa-Park owner Roland Mack: "Back then, my father Franz Mack invented and engineered 'Eurosat' with the help of self-made models. He immersed himself in the development of this ride for months. To see one of the 'Eurosat' trains now exhibited in the 'National Roller Coaster Museum', showing visitors a piece of history of Europa-Park, is a special honour and a great remembrance of my father."
