A first look at the animated racing spectacle with Gemma Arterton and Thomas Brodie Sangster
The official teaser for the GRAND PRIX OF EUROPE is now available and gives an action-packed taste of the fast-paced story of Ed & Edda, the well-known and much-loved Europa-Park mascots. Fans can look forward to the unmistakable voices of Gemma Arterton and Thomas Brodie Sangster.
The lovingly animated adventure film brings Ed, Edda and their friends to the big screen for the first time and promises to be full of charming characters, humorous action and lots of racing fun for the whole family. Warner Bros. Pictures Germany will release GRAND PRIX OF EUROPE in cinemas in Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland on 24. July 2025.
The film:
The mouse Edda, daughter of the fairground operator Erwin, wants to be a racing driver. When the 50th race of the European GRAND PRIX starts, she seizes the unique opportunity to meet her idol, racing driver Ed, and at the same time to save her father's struggling business; but to do so, she has to get into the cockpit herself...
Just in time for Europa-Park's 50th anniversary, Ed, Edda and their friends will take over cinema screens around the world. The co-production between MACK Magic and Warner Bros. Film Productions Germany, written by Kirstie Falkous, John Reynolds and Jeff Hylton with Ben Safier among others, will delight cinema audiences in 2025 with its lovable characters, captivating story, action and humour.
The film is produced by Michael Mack, Managing Partner of Europa-Park and founder of the entertainment company MACK Magic. It is currently being produced at the MACK Animation Studios in Hanover, one of Europe's leading animation studios, responsible for the box office successes 'Animals United' and the 'Happy Family' franchise, as well as in Rust. The film is directed by Waldemar Fast, who has been working in the animation industry for over 20 years as a director and animator and has been involved in numerous successful productions.
GRAND PRIX OF EUROPE will be released in summer 2025 by Warner Bros. Pictures Germany in Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland.
Timeless Films will distribute the film internationally. In France, a strong partner has been found in distributor KMBO. In North America, the film will be released in collaboration with Viva Kids. GRAND PRIX OF EUROPE is funded by the DFFF.
