Creative power:
Ann-Kathrin Mack

Design, sustainability and forward-thinking architecture.

Ann-Kathrin Mack plays a decisive role in shaping the development of the Europa-Park Resort thanks to her passion for architecture, keen sense of design and clear understanding of guests' needs. As managing partner, she is responsible for marketing and communications as well as the structural development and architectural design of the entire resort.

Her experience of numerous construction and design projects, including the themed hotel 'Krønasår', the award-winning employee campus, and the design of the Croatian themed area, has shaped her commitment to combining experience and aesthetics in a unique way.

Responsible for brand positioning, sales and digital development at Europa-Park, she combines creative design, entrepreneurial thinking and innovation in one role. Her goal remains clear: To preserve and develop the unique resort for future generations. Ann-Kathrin Mack embodies the connection between tradition and progress particularly well.

As the first woman to join the management board in the nearly 250‑year history of the family‑owned company, she is driving its further development — always with respect for established values, but also with an openness to new ideas and ways of working.

To me, ‘Made by Mack’ also represents a constant stream of new ideas and pioneering innovations.

Passion for architecture & design

Ann‑Kathrin Mack was born in 1989 to Roland and Marianne Mack and spent her childhood in the heart of Europa-Park. Inspired by her grandfather Franz Mack, with whom she used to build model rollercoasters as a child, she developed a passion for architecture and design at an early age. She completed her architecture degree, gaining practical experience at renowned architecture firms alongside her studies. During and after her studies, she gained experience working at several international theme parks before joining the MACK Group.

Her master's thesis formed the basis of a forward‑looking project: The Europa‑Park Resort's employee campus. She now applies her expertise to designing new themed areas, hotels and a variety of other construction projects. Always with a special focus on sustainability.

As the first woman on the management board of the family‑run company, she offers a fresh perspective and is helping to shape the future of the Europa‑Park Resort. Over the past few years, she has gained valuable management experience and proven her ability to combine functionality, aesthetics, and unique theming perfectly.

Vision and creative responsibility

As Europa‑Park's Managing Director, Ann‑Kathrin Mack is responsible for MACK Solutions and also oversees the decor and design of the Operations & Service division. She also leads the Marketing & Communications division, ensuring a consistent approach to everything from planning and implementation to communication and marketing. She identifies valuable synergies and applies her design expertise and guest perspective to the strategic development of the resort. By doing this, she ensures that every project meets the family‑owned company's high‑quality standards and drives sustainable innovation.

Significant construction projects have been completed under her leadership, including:

  • The 4* superior hotel 'Krønasår' - from the initial design to its opening
  • Theming of Rulantica water world, including designing the Svalgurok outdoor area
  • Re‑theming of Ghost Castle to become Castello dei Medici
  • Sustainable greening of the resort, including wild shrubs, bee pavilions and the integration of renewable energies
  • Croatian themed area: Construction of an authentic themed area
  • Austrian themed area: Reconstruction and reinterpretation of the themed area, including the redesign of attractions
  • Employee campus: Completion of her master’s thesis

Thanks to her keen sense of design and functionality, Ann-Kathrin Mack is setting clear design accents. She combines architectural standards with ecological responsibility to ensure the Europa-Park Resort remains sustainable in the future.

Values & visions: Sustainable construction for future generations

For Ann-Kathrin Mack, sustainability is not just a buzzword; she considers it an essential component of responsible architecture. She places great importance on forward-thinking construction that considers ecological, economic and social factors. "By embracing the three pillars of sustainability – ecology, economy and social responsibility – we can ensure the future success of our family business," she explains.

Her aim is to develop existing attractions carefully and plan new construction projects with environmental compatibility in mind. Green spaces, renewable energy sources and resource-efficient materials are all important factors.
Her work demonstrates that sustainable thinking and creative vision can be combined to form the basis for the long-term development of the Europa-Park Resort.
