'Europa-Park Children's House Little Heroes'

March 25, 2026

Great progress is being made on the construction of the new ‘Europa-Park Children's House Little Heroes’. Following the topping-out ceremony, work on the interior is now in full swing. “We are definitely aiming to open in July 2026,” emphasises the project’s ambassador, Miriam Mack.

The 'Europa-Park Children's House Little Heroes' is a joint project between Europa-Park, the 'Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern' foundation, the German Children’s Cancer Foundation in Bonn, and the Stelzenmännchen non-profit association in Karlsruhe. This flagship charity project has been launched by Europa-Park to mark its 2025 anniversary. Located in the new Western town of Silver Lake City, the uniquely designed children’s house features five large apartments, each of which is designed to accommodate a family of four whose child has recovered from cancer, helping them to return to normal life.

The Swiss musician and international star DJ BoBo has become the patron of the new centre. Known as the 'King of Dance', he says, "It is a personal priority for me to help families and children who have been through difficult times and are not experiencing life's brighter side. I have been friends with the Mack family and Europa-Park for decades. As well as their huge success, I also admire the entrepreneurial family’s strong social commitment. This children’s house is a brilliant idea, and I am happy to support it.”

Roland Mack, owner of Europa-Park, said: "We decided to launch a permanent programme for families facing significant hardship, alongside many other charitable initiatives. The programme is aimed at children who are gradually returning to normal life after battling serious cancer. The five-day stay at Europa-Park and Rulantica water world with their families is intended to restore their zest for life and help them readjust to normality. Family cohesion is particularly important following the severe strain caused by cancer. It is not only the child who has recovered who has been through a great deal, but also their siblings and parents. Our goal is to promote further recovery by fostering a zest for life."

Each family's stay lasts five days and is completely free of charge. Retired Europa-Park staff provide voluntary care for the families. The ‘Europa-Park Children's House Little Heroes’ is supported by the German Children's Cancer Foundation in Bonn.

The new children’s house is being built in close cooperation with, and with the support of, the 'Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern e.V.'. Together with the 'Stiftung RTL' and many other donors, the costs of accommodating the affected families are to be covered over the coming years. Construction of the new children’s house alone will cost more than three million euros.

Since 1996, the 'RTL – Wir helfen Kindern e. V.'foundation has provided over 300 million Euros in funding to thousands of children's aid projects in Germany and around the world. During the major RTL charity telethon hosted by Wolfram Kons, the new children’s house was presented as one of its selected projects.

Wolfram Kons, Chairman of the 'RTL – Wir helfen Kindern e.V.' foundation, said: “Together with Europa-Park in Rust, DJ BoBo and the Mack family, we can make a huge difference. At the ‘Europa-Park Children's House Little Heroes’, families with seriously ill children can rediscover their zest for life, which will play a crucial role in their recovery. The Mack family has built an incredible entrepreneurial legacy and has shown enormous compassion for children for many years. The 'RTL Wir helfen Kindern' foundation is planning a long-term partnership with Europa-Park. This will be a fantastic collaboration for helping others.”
