Europa-Park Children’s House Little Heroes officially open

July 6, 2026

On 6 July 2026, the new ‘Europa-Park Children’s House Little Heroes’ was officially opened at the Europa-Park Resort. The Mack family, who own the park, along with the Swiss musician DJ BoBo, the patron of the house, officially launched this very special project that is so close to their hearts. The opening ceremony was hosted by Wolfram Kons, board member of the Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern e.V. (RTL – We Help Children Foundation). The event at Silver Lake City was attended by numerous guests, including Minister Marion Gentges and Mayor of Rust, Kai-Achim Klare. The first families have now arrived at the new children’s house.

The ‘Europa-Park Children’s House Little Heroes’ was established jointly by Europa-Park, the Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern e.V. (RTL – We Help Children Foundation), the Deutsche Kinderkrebsstiftung (German Children’s Cancer Foundation) in Bonn and the non-profit Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder Karlsruhe e.V. (Support Association for Children with Cancer in Karlsruhe, known as ‘Stelzenmännchen’). It is the flagship charity project launched by Europa-Park to mark its anniversary year in 2025. This unique children’s house has been built in the new Silver Lake City western town, offering five large, accessible apartments. Each apartment can accommodate a family of four and is intended to help families of young people recovering from cancer to return to normal life.

Children and their families can stay for five days at a time, completely free of charge. From the many attractions at Europa-Park itself to the Rulantica water world and excursions to the Taubergießen nature reserve, or a visit to the Europa-Park TALENT ACADEMY or YULLBE, the region offers countless ways to rediscover life’s joys. Retired Europa-Park employees will look after the families on a voluntary basis. Close partners include the German Children’s Cancer Foundation in Bonn, which is responsible for selecting the families on the basis of their specific needs, and the Stelzenmännchen Support Association for Children with Cancer in Karlsruhe, which has over 37 years of experience and expertise in supporting families of children suffering from cancer.

DJ BoBo acts as patron
DJ BoBo has taken on the role of patron for the new children’s house. “Helping families and children who have been through difficult times and find themselves in challenging circumstances is a cause close to my heart", says the Swiss musician, known as the King of Dance. "I have been friends with the Mack family and Europa-Park for decades. Besides their enormous success, I also admire the entrepreneurial family’s strong commitment to social causes. The children’s house is a brilliant idea, which I am delighted to support.”

Roland Mack, owner of Europa-Park, explains: “Since we announced the ‘Europa-Park Children’s House Little Heroes’, we have received nothing but positive feedback. Seeing the first families here now and the happy looks on their faces proves to us that this project is a resounding success. Strengthening family bonds after the ordeal of battling cancer is hugely important, and we hope that their stay with us at Europa-Park, at the Rulantica water world and in the new Silver Lake City will bring them some joy and help them return to normality. It is not only the child, but also their siblings and parents who have been through a very difficult time. Our aim is to further support the healing process through joy. A huge thank you goes to everyone involved and to our amazing partners.”

Collaboration with the Stiftung RTL Wir helfen Kindern e.V.
The new children’s house was established in close cooperation with and with the support of the Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern e.V. (RTL – We Help Children Foundation). Working together with the foundation and numerous other donors, the aim is to cover the costs of accommodation for families in need over the coming years. The construction costs alone for the new children’s house amount to more than three million euros.

“Together with Europa-Park in Rust, DJ BoBo and the Mack family, we can make a huge difference”, says Wolfram Kons, board member of the RTL – We Help Children Foundation. “The ‘Europa-Park Children’s House Little Heroes’ brings joy to families with seriously ill children, something that will play a crucial role in these children’s recovery. The Mack family have not only built up an incredibly successful business, but have also shown a great deal of compassion towards so many children for many, many years. The RTL – We Help Children Foundation is planning a long-term partnership with Europa-Park, which will make for a wonderful collaboration dedicated to helping others.”
