Château Ollwiller: The castle and vineyard in Alsace

Tradition, terroir and innovation

Château Ollwiller, one of the oldest vineyards in France, is located near Mulhouse and combines centuries-old winemaking expertise with the latest biodynamic knowledge. Since 2020, the vineyard has been owned by the Mack family, who are passionate about sustainable wine production and the highest quality. Thomas Mack, Managing Director of the vineyard, describes the project as ‘a family project spanning generations’. With its high-quality Rieslings, exquisite crémants and the modern wine line ALZA Le Vin, Château Ollwiller combines tradition and innovation.

A vineyard steeped in tradition

The roots of Château Ollwiller go back to the 12th century. As the second oldest winery in France, it is an important part of Alsace's wine-growing heritage. After severe damage in the First World War, the castle was rebuilt in a reduced form and established itself as a first-class winery. A new era began with the acquisition by the Mack family in 2020, characterised by sustainability, biodynamic agriculture and a consistent focus on top quality.

A vision for the future

The goal is clear: Château Ollwiller aims to establish itself among the top Rieslings of Alsace. The introduction of ALZA Le Vin, a dynamic wine line aimed at a younger audience, combines modern wine interpretations with the heritage of Château Ollwiller. The Mack family is passionate about preserving the unique nature and rich tradition of Alsace. Every glass of wine tells a story of devotion and respect for this nature.

The premium wines, with their fresh aromas and mineral depth, offer a successful combination of authenticity and modern style. The project impressively embodies the vision of a harmonious interaction between people and the environment, while also promoting Franco-German friendship and European cooperation.

ALZA Le Vin – a young wine start-up

The young wine brand ALZA Le Vin is part of Château Ollwiller. The start-up of the two young winemakers Jerome Capy and Pierre-Marie Spraul is supported by Thomas Mack and produces stylish wines that are full of contrasts. A special highlight of this extraordinary wine brand is its original bottle design.
