From Horror Nights to Traumatica - the evolution of horror
What began in 2007 with Terenzi Horror Nights has developed into one of the most impressive horror events in Europe. Together with singer Marc Terenzi, Michael Mack created a Halloween event that for the first time offered an immersive horror experience for adults after the park closed. With elaborate sets, renowned make-up artists and an unparalleled attention to detail, brave actors were transformed into scary creatures, zombies and killer clowns - a whole new dimension of horror.
In 2017, the concept was further developed and realigned under the name Horror Nights - Traumatica. Guests now enter a post-apocalyptic world where rival factions fight for supremacy. The event has continued to grow and now takes place in a specially created area outside the regular park area.
Traumatica sets new standards in horror entertainment with a mix of high-quality theming, top-notch special effects and immersive storytelling. In 2026, the event will celebrate its 20th anniversary - and the horror will be more terrifying than ever.

Best season in history: more than six million visitors come to Europa-Park for the first time in 2022
In the 2022 season, for the first time in its almost-50-year history, Germany's largest theme park exceeded six million visitors, representing a significant expansion of its market leadership. Europa-Park owner Roland Mack says, “We see this record as a huge vote of confidence from our visitors, and one that comes in a difficult year in which war, supply problems, inflation and the energy crisis have been making things difficult for all of us. People are looking for leisure and balance, and the Europa-Park Resort, alongside the Rulantica water world, offers just that, which is an attractive travel destination in its own right. The beds of the hotel resort, which number approximately 5,800 hotel beds, were also often fully booked in 2022. In November, the internationally acclaimed new restaurant of the future ‘Eatrenalin’ was opened. A total of over 80 million Euros have been invested within three years.”
